This month's drink is my mom's Hot Toddy recipe. When we were kids, my mom would make us these hot toddies - virgin when we were little, but by our late teens, she'd even add a splash of Irish whiskey. In her opinion, these would cure what ailed you. I've changed very little of her recipe - I've just replaced the sugar with honey, to maximize its comforting powers when you're sick!
Nancy's Honey Hot Toddies
- 1 Jigger (1.5 oz, or 3 T) Irish Whiskey
- 1 1/2 inch slice of lemon
- 4-6 cloves
- 1/2 T honey
Insert cloves into your slice of lemon, like so:
Place lemon into your mug, add honey, and muddle honey and lemon together gently, keeping lemon and cloves intact. Add 4 oz boiling water, add whiskey, and stir gently. Serve and enjoy!
